Art Teacher
Mrs. Forster is originally from Knox County (having attended and graduated from Fredericktown High School). She moved to Mount Vernon a couple of years ago from Atlanta, Georgia where she was the Art Director and teacher at a private academy (k-8th grade). Mrs. Forster and her husband, Jason left Atlanta so she could take a teaching job at Mount Vernon Nazarene University where she teaches the upper division courses History of Art I and II, History of Graphic Design, and Aesthetics, along with lower division courses Art and the Human Identity, and Art in the Western World. Both of her degrees were obtained in Ohio, she received her B.A. in Fine Art from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and her MFA in Art History from Ohio University. She enjoys travelling having visited Italy, Switzerland, England, Ireland, Whales, Scotland, France, Belize, Mexico, Canada and the Dominican Republic and looks forward to travelling to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Mrs. Forster is an avid runner (mostly 5ks and 10ks; although, she ran her first marathon a couple of years ago in Atlanta) and reader. You can sometimes find her painting en plein air (French for “painting out of doors”). Summer affords her the opportunity to garden-flowers and vegetables and is currently planning an extensive garden made up of bell peppers, tomatoes, string beans and peas.
