St. Vincent de Paul School’s varsity basketball team claimed victory over their staff and coaches in Friday night’s charity game with a score of 42-29. The game wasn’t the students’ only victory, the event itself was created, organized, and publicized by the seventh and eighth grade students.
Students are sponsoring two children from the Montana de Luz orphanage. The orphanage, with an office in Columbus, offers a home, education, job training, and medical care for children affected by HIV and AIDS in Honduras.
The basketball game and bake sale raised $500 and also included donations of items requested by the orphanage. The donations will be used for Easter care packages for the orphanage.
Thank you to all who donated and attended!
